I am always keen to listen to what local people think about the things that are in the news and matters that affect us all locally.

Everywhere I go, local people tell me they are fed up with broken promises, soaring prices and rising crime under Labour.

It's clear to most people that Gordon Brown's Government is simply out of touch with real people and real life.

Here in Northampton it is the Liberal Democrats who are standing up for local people. We have been at the forefront of campaigns against the Government's plans to build houses on Greenfield sites. We have highlighted the problems of our town centre and campaigned for improvements to it. Liberal Democrats led the campaign against Labour's proposals to close local Post Offices in the town, and most recently it was the Lib Dems who ran a campaign against the 10p tax hike.

In Parliament Nick Clegg's Liberal Democrats are fighting hard to get a better deal for you and your family. Unlike the Conservatives, the Lib Dems have real solutions to takle the problems facing Britain today.
